Carey was a top fashion model who stands at almost 5'10", was popular with American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father, an accomplished scientist, who was awarded the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists 1979 Scientist of Year award, is an accomplished geoscientist. Carey was educated all over the planet because of the work of her father. While she attended in the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. An agent from Ford's model agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. After moving to France and briefly was a resident at Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision that she would return home to New York and continue her training. Soon, Vogue, Glamour and others included her on the covers. As she modeled and continued to pursue her studies at a full-time level for a literary major at New York University. As time passed, she was drawn to acting and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. The year 1986 was the year she had her first performance which was a part of Club Paradise, with Robin Williams. When she is not working she likes to ski, windsurfing, climbing rocks and whitewater rafting.
